The quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.
Gratitude is such a beautiful thing. During the good times it gives you that feeling of warmth and happiness, a feeling almost like your heart is exploding with love. During the rough times, it is one of the healthiest coping practices to get you through.
Sometimes we live our lives like a checklist that is in a fast and constant forward motion. Going to school, going to work, getting together with friends, making time for family, trying to keep up with today’s trends, are only some of the things we try to accomplish in our monthly, weekly and even our daily routines. As our list keeps growing, we get busier and sometimes we forget to slow down and just appreciate. Taking the time to hit thate pause button and to acknowledge how amazing life is and noticing how big of an impact the little things are, can really help you live a healthy and positive lifestyle.
But maybe you have taken the time to slow down and appreciate everything and everyone you have, and maybe you have found the perfect work-life balance that works for you. That is AMAZING news! Be proud of yourself because it’s not as easy as it sounds. If you are one of these individuals who have found their balance and have taken the time to be grateful and thankful, then reach out to those that haven’t figured out the secret yet. Show them that life isn’t supposed to be so difficult and chaotic, and remind them that they are the captain of their own happiness. When you take the time to help another person and show them why it is essential to be grateful and thankful, we start to create a beautiful and powerful movement.
Remember, if you are having a bad day, a hectic day or you just lost yourself for a moment, come back to something that you are truly grateful and/or thankful for. Take the time each day, week, month, to remind yourself of all of the beautiful things in this world, of everything that you have accomplished and are proud of, and remember that you chose your own happiness, gives thanks to yourself!
This month we are hosting a #DHPGratitudeChallenge week. Each day we will be posting a new challenge from October 3rd until October 9th and we challenge you to take part in it with us!
