✨Gratitude is a life changing attitude✨

I used to SUCK at finding the time or energy to express gratitude. I felt uncomfortable writing down that I was grateful for the sun that day, a university degree, or coffee for that matter. I knew I love and value my friendships already and didn’t think it was necessary to write these things down.

Then as I grow older, I noticed I was spending the majority of my time living in a cycle of chaos and reminiscing about the past. I didn’t feel like I was doing enough and that time was flying by too quickly 🕝
⠀⠀
But it wasn’t that time was flying by or that I haven’t done enough. 🔑 Truth is, I have done more than I could ever imagine. I just wasn’t taking time to fully soak in the moment or enjoy the present.

Overall the past couple years, cultivating gratitude has forced me (in a good way) to slow down and appreciate people and things around me. No matter my mood or what happened that day, I knew that gratitude would be there to catch me if I fall. Not only has it allowed me to reflect and give thanks, but also help me find the good in every situation.
⠀⠀
Everyday, we are surrounded by a million and more reasons that brings us joy. 1️⃣ One of the easiest ways is to spend time writing 3 things down in your planner at the end of the day. If you feel uncomfortable and silly like I did, start with writing down 1 thing and why it made you happy ☀️ Start small and build yourself up.
